LAVIE BEGINNINGS
LAVIE BEGINNING ART WORKS
LAVIE began depicting portraits and studying the human figure, besides painting some landscapes and still lifes. She even experimented with painting miniatures on ivory sheets at Maestro Pedro Centeno’s studio in Caracas. She took courses in ceramics, enameling on copper, sculpture, and graphic arts. These were times of exploring materials, themes, and techniques.
She was invited to participate in the “Salón Oficial de Artes Plásticas del Museo de Bellas Artes,” where she received the official prize for ex-alumni in 1951. She also won the Popular Prize in the Salon Planchart in 1959 with her work “Las Barcas Rojas.” She continued participating in other shows and became a recognized artist.
